Berlin, 1943-44. Two young women form an deep and intense relationship against the backdrop of the double threat of bombing raids and persecution. For one of them, married and a mother of four children, it will be a crucial experience in her life. For the other woman who, as a Jew and a member of the underground resistance organisation, is under constant threat, this love also means hope of life and survival.
Winner of Best Actress for both Juliane Köhler and Maria Schrader at the 1999 Berlin Film Festival.
